Managing ADHD as an adult woman often feels like a relentless balancing act. Despite my best efforts to maintain routines and manage my energy levels, there are times when I hit a wall or make a misstep. These moments can quickly spiral into low self-esteem and shame, especially given my upbringing in a culture where these feelings were often used as motivators.
Discipline is a straightforward concept, yet implementing it consistently can be incredibly challenging. I’ve realized that true discipline comes from a mindset of abundance and self-worth, not from shame or fear of failure. Despite my efforts to break free from this toxic cycle, I sometimes find myself craving the very shame I strive to escape, believing it will push me to do better.
However, I’ve come to understand that this is not a sustainable or healthy way to live. Through my journey of self-discovery, I've found several strategies that help me manage setbacks and foster a more positive mindset.
Embrace Self-Compassion
